To assertively navigate through Feminism, Witchcraft, Spirituality, Pleasure and Healing without getting Political sometimes, is as naïve as fantasising to be an Astronaut without doing some Math along the way… and because of the same nature! Math helps your brain process critical thinking and develops neurological shortcuts that, through continuous alternative inputs, ultimately create a web of analytical capacities wrapping a sphere of knowledge created by the theoretical and practical information that we’ve gathered so far; critical thinking and knowledge gives you wisdom –The Patriarchy’s biggest fear… INFORMATION IS POWER.

Being politically involved not only means that you have some knowledge THEY gave you back in school of THEIR history, pay taxes and vote; it goes WAY farther than that! Information needs to be processed in order to become knowledge. You can’t really process information if you don’t compare it to dated, INCLUSIVE and alternative information, because it’s true that you can compare an apple to an apple, but you can’t compare an apple to that same apple. In order to UNDERSTAND what an apple is, we need to compare this apple to other apples and other fruits and even vegetables!

That being said, is important for us to engage in social spaces of –educated, respectful and constructive- political debate too! Unfortunately governments have been very successful in dogmatizing political conversations, implying that they will only lead to an awkward moment of political confrontation and that would “ruin the vibe” and to that, I say: Maybe there are some “vibes” worth ruining? Maybe there are some vibes that are more harmful to the collective than they claim to heal it? Maybe that “Good Vibes Only” and “I don’t get into politics” attitude is just as toxic and dismissive to the real life problems that more likely WILL “ruin life” in the future? Like climate change, war, gender disparities, wealth distribution, HUMAN RIGHTS? All of those things, actively happening as we speak. So, which “good vibes” are they talking about?

A few years ago, the SCOTUS overran the Roe v. Wade landmark that protected womb owners to get safe abortions… TO GET SAFE ABORTIONS! Overrunning this won’t stop abortions, it would only stop SAFE abortions. There are unlimited reasons for a person to abort a pregnancy -wanted or unwanted! Considering an abortion “worth” having only in situations of rape, would mean that a womb owners have autonomy over their own body, ONLY after it has been violated.

And what does that have to do with anything? It has to do with EVERYTHING, for so many reasons and I’m more than happy to point some out for you (top of my head):

*Pleasure: forcing folks into motherhood, to pay with their physical and mental health and sometimes their lives, makes sex exclusively reproductive and consequential, stripping from it all of the autonomy that nature granted us (HUMANS) to experience pleasure whilst celebrating our “God given” right to BANG. Motherhood should be a vocation, not a punishment.

*Healing: Well, the same way that we can’t really ENJOY something knowing that it’s consequences could vary from a delicious orgasm and/or a beautiful baby, to bankruptcy, STD’s, and/or fucking death; we can’t pretend to “heal” -individually nor collectively- whilst suffering from deadly consequences and the fact that Womb Owners’ rights are under direct and deadly attack from dudes who sworn to protect them.

*Spirituality: Religions are spiritual – spirituality is NOT religious. Don’t be fooled, religions were MAN-made, and MAN-for; governments have been using religion as their Trojan horse to strip complete pagan cultures from their natural and aboriginal resources and lands since before recorded history (Sumer, 6000 BCE), that’s why the conservatives are using “God wants babies to live” as an excuse to oppress The Womb’s sovereignty.

Spirituality simply is: for your spirit to live in accordance with the natural spirits; the spirit of wind, the spirit of water, the spirit of fire, the spirit of nature and in appreciation with our life Source. So, protect Earth and be grateful, basically.

*Witchcraft: History repeats itself, what’s happening in Washington is nothing different than what was happening in Germany back in the 1400’s with the publishing of the Malleus Maleficarum – The Witches Hammer, which qualified women who didn’t wanted to have sex with some random man, or “making the man’s penis flaccid” a witch and for that she deserved to burn in the stake, no trial… Okay, there was a “trial”; in fact, there are plenty of records about these monstrosities. But this “trials” were virtually psychological and physical torture, until the woman went delusional and said “yes” to one of the most stupid questions ever to be asked, like “did you kiss the Devil’s anus!?” – No joke, lots of records.

*Collective: We are collectively suffering from an ancient and DEEP Mother wound, since the establishment of Catholicism.

The Mother was never supposed to be a virgin as the father was never supposed to be celibate! How so!? We have to stop separating the Holy Mother and The Holy Father and start talking about the Holy Union, because they’re never really talking about a bride and a groom, aren’t them? They’re really talking about the Polarities of The Divine Female Archetype and The Divine Male Archetype, the same Polarities in your own self, in your relationships, in your community, your country, society and species; both in divine UNION, not in complete warfare.

The thing is, you could say “I don’t get into politics”, but politics WILL get into your church, your school, your home, your craft, and personal information and your body… unless you’re a white man, of course. A few days ago the POTUS gave the executive order to dismiss any legal changes on people’s name; trying to hurt the Transgender community, it ran over the several millions of women who have changed their name for marital reasons or have been victims of harassment, or x, y z. This is an unfortunate great example of why it is important to discern that THE STRUGGLE IS COLLECTIVE, it involves all of us, not just a few, or just this class or that “type” –ALL OF US… again, unless you happen to be a white man.

Being dismissive of things like this is only a product of privilege and ignorance. Privilege of ‘not having to NEED an abortion at this specific moment’, privilege of not living in a country where abortions are legally persecuted, privilege of knowing that if you ever need an abortion, you or your family would ‘find the way’ to sort that out for you. What is “ignorance”? Ignorance is having access to information and choosing to IGNORE it, information like; the gap of ‘Underage Pregnancies’ (child abuse) between African American girls and white girls, the MULTIPLE reasons why a risky/unhealthy pregnancies SHOULD be terminated and the likelihood of these to happen, but more importantly: TO IGNORE THEIR RIGHT TO SIMPLY CHOOSE.

How NOT to be dismissive? Harness your privilege to help the unprivileged and amplify their voice, educate yourself and HAVE THOSE UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS; but do it politely, respectfully, with an educated and open mind; not all adversities are meant to be confrontational, they could also be very constructive! The problem is not adversity, the problem is the lack of empathy. We NEED to do The Work, remember that in order for a tree to reach the heavens, its roots go all the way down to hell; the red pill is a hard pill to swallow.
